RAPP is a Belgian online learning platform that helps candidates prepare for the theory test for driving licence A and B, and for the risk perception test in the practical exam. The platform combines theory, practice questions, realistic mock exams and risk perception training in one accessible environment — without installation, without a subscription, available on any smartphone, tablet or computer.
RAPP is specifically built for the Belgian Highway Code and the official GOCA exam format, and is available in Dutch, French and English.
In 2026, the most common route to a driving licence in Belgium is still a thick paper book. Tars Van Der Vaerent, Daan Van Isterdael and Nick Van Isterdael could not believe it.
When a friend had to get her driving licence, the three technology consultants saw how far the learning process had fallen behind. They decided to investigate the problem thoroughly. Tars's MBA thesis at Vlerick Business School became the academic foundation of RAPP: an analysis of the entire ecosystem, supported by market research and interviews with candidates and parents. The conclusion was clear: a modern approach could make a measurable difference.
In 2025, Tars, Daan and Nick launched RAPP. The platform was mentioned in De Tijd (April 2026) as one of the most promising Belgian start-ups in the Jong Geweld section.
RAPP guides candidates through the entire process towards a driving licence, from initial study to passing the exam.
Theory course for driving licence A and B — The full Belgian Highway Code, clearly explained with examples and images. Actively updated with every legislative change, including the new traffic rules of 2026.
Practice questions per chapter — Candidates practise by topic and immediately see where they stand. The questions are matched to the difficulty and structure of the real exam.
Realistic mock exams — Complete practice exams for driving licences A and B, with the same structure and scoring as the official exam at an approved test centre.
Hazard perception test — Training for the visual part of the practical exam, where candidates learn to recognise and assess dangerous traffic situations.
Study coach — A smart study coach that identifies weak points and optimises the user's study method.
Practical routes (coming soon) — Candidates will be able to generate ideal practice routes to prepare for their driving lessons as efficiently as possible.
RAPP works with free entry and a one-off payment — no subscription, no automatic renewal.
Free access includes the complete theory course for driving licences A and B, the practice questions from chapter 1, and one free hazard perception test. For full access, users pay €9.99 for 14 days. After that, the user decides whether and when to pay again. No surprises.
10,000+ users — 2 driving licences (A and B) — 3 languages — founded in 2025 — mentioned in De Tijd April 2026
RAPP aims to become the obvious choice at European level for anyone who wants to get a driving licence. The platform is currently exploring how the Dutch market can be entered. In addition, the team is working on expansions such as AI integration for personalised learning, features around the practical driving test, and tools for affordable driving lessons.
The mission is simple: truly help candidates pass, not just repeat questions, but understand, practise and be prepared for the real exam.
